News  >  Want to Propel PTSD Research? DC-Metro Area Participants Sought for Study

21 March 2024

Polaris Genomics has just launched its largest trial with Stella DC to further develop PTS-iD™, the first test of its kind to use genomics to unveil the physical changes underlying PTSD.

“It is essential that we begin to understand what is occurring within us at the biological level,” says Dr. Anne Naclerio, Chief Medical Officer at Polaris. “These insights will enable the development of more effective therapies and also decrease stigma.”

Participants play a crucial role in helping to deepen our understanding, reduce stigma, and develop more effective therapies for PTSD.

The process is simple: Participants visit Stella DC for one blood draw and complete a clinical interview with a provider (less than two hours). All study volunteers receive a $50 gift card as a thank-you for participation in this pioneering research.

Charles Martinez, Medical Director of Stella DC, emphasizes, “The advancement of trauma care requires a paradigm shift based on the understanding that trauma is a biological injury with associated psychological changes. This study with Polaris Genomics, in collaboration with Stella DC, marks a significant milestone in this paradigm shift.”

About Polaris Genomics

We bring together genomics & machine learning to decode the biological fingerprints of mental health. Through this blend of technology & biology, we seek to reduce reliance on subjective questionnaires & advance the development of objective & precise tools & diagnostics for a range of conditions, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, TBI, & substance use disorder.

About Stella

Stella’s approach to treatment revolves around a core belief that mental health conditions can cause biological injury to the brain and need to be treated accordingly. Our protocols include medical & biopsychosocial assessments, ketamine infusions, the dual sympathetic reset (an advanced stellate ganglion block SGB), integration therapy, & more. It all starts with a medical and biopsychosocial assessment to see if you could benefit from treatment.
